Thematic Focus

In addition to tours focusing on highlights of the collection and special exhibitions, we also offer thematic tours on topics such as Egon Schiele:

SCHIELE – BODY IMAGE AND HUMAN LANGUAGE

How does Egon Schiele artistically implement existential themes such as Love and Eros, Life and Death, and Ego? What significance do facial expressions and gestures have in his representations? On this guided tour, discover the manifestation of Expressionism that only found its characteristic form through the artist’s obsession to experience everything in depth.

SCHIELE – LANDSCAPES

Visions of animated nature and dream images of dead cities are not just highlights of Egon Schiele's work – they were revolutionary in the Expressionist landscape genre. The peculiarity of these nature, landscape, and city paintings lies in their overcoming topographical description: in Egon Schiele's work, houses become faces, and landscapes, dispositions of the soul.
