EGON SCHIELE DOCUMENTATION CENTER

The Egon Schiele Documentation Center is based on the extensive archives of Rudolf Leopold, the cornerstone of which was laid with the creation of the Egon Schiele catalogue raisonné in 1972, and has been consistently expanded ever since.
Publications, reviews, and new research findings are continuously documented and archived at the Egon Schiele Documentation Center and made accessible for research purposes. A highlight of the center is the Egon Schiele Autograph Database, which provides anyone interested with online access to Egon Schiele’s writings and correspondence. The Egon Schiele Documentation Center also includes a complete inventory of historical and contemporary literature on Egon Schiele and his milieu, as well as an archive of dated Austrian and international critiques discussing the work of this outstanding representative of Austrian Expressionism.
Researchers are invited to contribute to the continuing growth of the Egon Schiele Documentation Center by informing us about their research projects and making their publications available to the archive.

Visitors can access the Egon Schiele Documentation Center by appointment, from Tuesday to Thursday, 1 pm to 6 pm.
