RESTORATION

The central tasks surrounding restoration at the Leopold Museum are the preservation and maintenance of the collection, as well as the preparation of works for in-house presentation. In addition to the registration of new acquisitions and the assessment of external loans for temporary exhibitions, preventative measures, such as the monitoring of climate and light conditions, also form an integral part of the diverse range of tasks for which the department is responsible. Furthermore, restorers are responsible for the technological examination of material and machinery as well as the execution and coordination of conservatory and restorative measures on objects in the collection.
